Vol. 1 contains reports of cases, Mich. 4 to Trin. 5 Anne (1705-1706), in a fair hand. Reversing the volume, in a more cursive hand, continues notes of cases in the Exchequer, Pas. 6 to Pas. 12 Geo. I (1720-1726). These exchequer cases continue into vol. 2.

English antiquary and collector. He began collecting while at Rugby School and Oxford. On inheriting his father's estate at Middle Hill in Worcestershire, Phillipps embarked on a career of collecting manuscripts and books. His collection of manuscripts eventually numbered over 60,000 items. Craven Ord (1756-1832) was Vice-President of the Society of Antiquaries and a Fellow of the Royal Society. He compiled a fine collection of impressions of brasses and of historical manuscripts.
